How To Insert Screenshots
When adding supporting details to your content, you may want to insert screenshots. This article will walk you through the process of adding screenshots to your article.
Getting Started
Whether you are adding images or screenshots, you'll need to utilize the Insert Image function inside the Article Writing Window.
When you are ready to add a screenshot to your article, click the Insert Image icon or press Ctrl+P inside the writing window to add your screenshot.
When the window above opens, drag your image into the "Drop Image" field or click the box to open your browser to upload.
You can also insert the image via URL or select from managed images.
App Screenshots
You should use app screenshots as images when your content discusses mobile apps.

How To Search for an App Screenshot
- Find the app in an online store page (Apple, Google Play, etc.).
- Search for the app.
- From the app page find a screenshot.

- Right-click the image.
- Select “Copy Image Location.”
- On the article page in the CMS, place the cursor in the article content where you would like to insert the image.
- Click on insert/edit image (tree icon).
- When the image box opens, drag the image, paste the image URL, or select from the manage images.
- Copy the URL for the web page that you took the image from.
- Add the attribution under the image in the CMS:
- Image via [Website Name]
- Use the website name as the anchor text and the Website URL (the exact page with the image) as the anchor URL
- Example: Image via Apple.com
- Use the website name as the anchor text and the Website URL (the exact page with the image) as the anchor URL

Web Page Screenshots
You should use screenshots as images when your content discusses web pages.
CopyPress recommends using an extension like Lightshot to capture a screenshot of a web page.
- Once you capture the screenshot, save the screenshot to your computer.
- Go to Imgur.com.
- Under upload images, select “Computer.”
- Open your saved image
- Select “Start Upload.”
- Select “Edit image” in the top right-hand corner of the page under “Image Options.”
- Crop the image to include only relevant information.
- Resize the image so that the image is at least 300 pixels wide.
- Type the number in the first box in the right-hand corner.
- Make sure the lock proportions box is selected.
- Hit the tab button.
- Save the changes.

- Copy the link under “Direct Link (email & IM).”
- On the article page in the CMS, place the cursor in the article content where you would like to insert the image.
- Click on insert/edit image (tree icon).

- Copy the link under “Link (email & IM).”
